Best GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards
I have run GIGABYTE motherboards in many of my older computers, collectively dating back over a decade, and have had both great performance and durability out of them. I still have a Z68 and two Z77 GIGABYTE motherboards, running my Intel Core i7 3770k and Core i5 3750k processors, till this day, with no issues at all.
In saying that, GIGABYTE had a bit of a rocky X470 Motherboard product range, due to low quality VRM choices.
I do however feel that they have learnt from these past mistakes, pulled their socks up, and really put their heart and soul into the new X570 Motherboard range.
This is based on the level of quality components that they have put on these boards, including the extremely high quality VRM, Voltage Controllers, MOSFETS, M.2 connectors and even Audio chipsets, are all very high-end grade components.
Until now, some of these, especially the VRM parts, have never been in reach of the average consumer, as they have only been strictly used on far more expensive, server based boards.

Best GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards - General Specs
Our first step in finding the best X570 Motherboard, is to start with the general specs of the GIGABYTE X570 motherboard product range for AMD Zen2 Processors. As these motherboards are designed to support the same AMD Ryzen 3000 CPU’s, many of the specs here will be identical, as they all make use of the same AM4 socket.
However, there are some very important buying factors within this table to take note of, such as Price, Form Factor (size) and On-Board Graphics.
In terms of the general specs, the price difference between motherboard models, is certainly a big factor to consider, in relation to your budget, when looking to buy one of these GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards.
Although, as mentioned before, there are many other factors you should also take into account as well, to make sure you are getting the most value from your purchase, with least sacrifices in features.
The best of the best, high end GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme will set you back $599 (TBC), while the and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master will cost $349.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra Motherboard costs , followed by the The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi which costs ($279.99) .
Now there is also the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO (NON-Wifi) version for $249, but I really don’t see the point of not taking a WiFi 6 enabled motherboard for a meager $10 extra. There is no WiFi 6 network card that you can buy for $10.
Moving down the price list, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite Motherboard will cost you ($292.90) while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X costs ($169.99).
The GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus Pro Wifi Mini-ITX will cost $220
The following X570 GIGABYTE motherboards that are standard ATX dimensions of 12″ x 9.6″ (30.5cm x 24.4cm) are the:
- GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master Motherboard ()
- GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra Motherboard ()
- GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi Motherboard ($279.99)
- GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO Motherboard ()
- GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite Motherboard ($292.90)
- GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X Motherboard ($169.99)
The GIGABYTE X570 Auros Xtreme is the larger E-ATX of 12″ x 10.6″ (30.5cm x 27cm), while the the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO Wifi is a Mini-ITX form factor size of 6.7″ x 6.7″ (17cm x 17cm).
The last difference between the 8 GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards is the on-board graphics that support HDMI at 4K (4096×2304) at a 60Hz refresh rate, with 16GB of Shared Memory.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra Motherboard (), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Pro, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) feature on-board 4K (4096×2304) graphics, at a 60Hz via 1xHDMI port.
The GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi supports 2x HDMI Ports as well as a 1x DisplayPort, for support of up to 3 monitors, which is quite astounding to see from a Mini-ITX motherboard.
The to high end GIGABYTE X570 Auros Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 Auros Master have no on-board graphics, as anyone buying these board will certainly be putting their own dedicated graphics card into their build instead. This also allows these two motherboard to offer a few extra features, in place of on-board graphics, that are more interesting to high end users.

Best GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards - RAM (Memory)
There is not much difference between the 8 GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards in terms of RAM specifications, except for the fact that the all now support a gorgeous 128GB of RAM via dual channel support of 4 DIMM slots, which is double that of the previous X470 generation motherboards that only supported 64GB of DDR4 RAM.
The only exception is the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi Mini-ITX motherboard, which supports 64GB of DDR4 RAM over its 2 DIMM slot configuration. For a Mini-ITX motherboard, this is an insane amount of RAM to support.
All the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards support a minimum of 2133MHz of DDR4 RAM, up to a Maximum of 3600MHz as standard.
The GIGABYTE X570 Auros Xtreme, GIGABYTE X570 Auros Master, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra Motherboard (), GIGABYTE X570 Auros PRO WiFi and GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi are able to support overclocked RAM up to 4400MHz quite easily, while the two entry level, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite
($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) motherboards can only support RAM overclocked to 4000Mhz.

BEST GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards - Storage
We have certainly come a long way in terms of storage technology and the amount of ports on our motherboards, compared to only a few years ago. These new X570 GIGABYTE motherboards are jam packed with both and array of SATA and M/2 ports.
All of the 7 GIGABYTE X570 ATX Motherboards, including the GIGABYTE X570 Auros Xtreme, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra Motherboard (), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Pro, GIGABYTE X570 GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99), support up to 6x SATA3 (6Gb/s) SATA ports.
This is more than enough for most high end workstation PCs to plug an array of SATA SSD Drives, such as the Samsung 860 EVO 500GB ($74.99) or Samsung 860 EVO 1TB ($121.07), as well as large storage Spinning Hard Drives into, such as the WD 8TB Ultrastar DC HC320 SATA HDD – 7200 RPM, 256MB Cache ($179.99), which is one of the fastest and most reliable HHD drives I’ve owned.
The only exception is again the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi Mini-ITX motherboard, which only supports 4x SATA3 (6Gb/s) SATA ports. This is however again, more than enough for a Mini-ITX motherboard
The M.2 Connectors for NVMe drive storage is where things get more interesting.
In comparison to the previous X470 Motherboards, the new X570 Motherboards support 1, if not 2 additional M.2 connectors. In combination with the 6x SATA3 (6Gb/s) SATA ports on these motherboards, you have almost 10 storage connections, which is fantastic.
The biggest contributor to the extra M.2 Ports is the new PCIe 4.0 standard. This opens up more PCIe lanes, compared to PCIe 3.0, thus allowing for the extra M.2 ports, but more importantly allows for double the speed, with new PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive already starting to make their way into a nearby release, clocking in at 5,000MB/s sequential read/write speeds.
The 3 top end GIGABYTE X570 motherboards, which includes the GIGABYTE X570 Auros Xtreme, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra Motherboard (), support 3x M.3 PCIe 4.0 connectors, while the rest of the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards, support 2x M.3 PCIe 4.0 connectors.

BEST GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards - USB Ports
While not something many people consider important when buying a new motherboard, to me this is one of my top 3 priority factors, when choosing a motherboard, due to all the devices and external drives I need to connect and power with my PC. This will vary depending on your needs, so decide which is best for your own needs here.
In saying that, the new GIGABYTE X570 motherboards, once again do not disappoint at all.
The GIGABYTE X570 Auros Xtreme, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra Motherboard (), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Pro, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) all, offer a whopping 19 USB port connections, when combining both the rear IO and internal USB headers.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) offers slightly less with its 14 USB connectors, followed by the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi Mini-ITX motherboard, which offers 10 USB connectors.
The arrangement of these USB speeds/generations vary quite differently between the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboard range though.
Looking at the table above, you can see how the GIGABYTE X570 Auros Xtreme naturally offers the most USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gb/s) ports, while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra Motherboard (), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Pro and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) substitutes some of those for the cheaper USB 2.0 generation instead.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) offer no USB-C 3.1 Gen2 ports on the rear IO, although the Elite does offer one internally, that can be connected to your case’s front panel.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) does however offer two USB-A 3.1 Gen2 ports on its rear IO.
Lastly, even with its limited 10 USB ports, the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi offers both a USB-C 3.1 Gen2 port, a USB-A 3.1 Gen2 port and 4x USB-A 3.1 Gen1 ports on its rear IO, as well as 2x internal USB-A 3.1 Gen2 ports.
This means that it 20% of its USB ports are the current fastest available, which is again perfect for a Mini-ITX solution.
USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gb/s) ports
In total, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) motherboards, offer the most USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gb/s) ports, with 7 each.

BEST GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards - PCIe Ports
Much like USB ports, the PCIe ports are also a very important, yet underrated factor to consider, when buying a motherboard.
The amount of PCIe ports and their arrangement again depends on what you want to connect to your new X570 Motherboard.
Naturally, most people (other than your average office desktop user), will want to install a dedicated graphics card in the PCIe x16 slot.
The rest of the slots, will largely depend on what else you want/need to connect.
The PCIe 8x slot can be used for a dual graphics card solution or for an NVMe Raid setup with the new GIGABYTE Aorus Gen4 NVMe AIC 8TB or ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Card (V2) NVMe expansion cards.
NOTE: If you are wanting to run either of these two expansion cards, with all 4 NVMe slots populated on an open X570 Motherboards, PCIe 4.0 8x slot, then you have to populate them with PCIe 3.0 NVMe drives, and not the new PCIe 4.0 NVMe drives as they require double the bandwidth. If you do, you will only be able to populate it with 2x PCIe 4.0 NVMe Drives.
With an open PCIe 4x slot you can also add even more NVMe drives using a StarTech.com M.2 Adapter – x4 PCIe 3.0 NVMe Adaptor ($22.41), although as these motherboards support PCIe 4.0 x4, you can in actual fact now run a dual PCIe 3.0 NVMe Drive expansion setup in your PCIE 4.0 4x slot with a Supermicro AOC-SLG3-2M2 PCIe Add-On Card ($58.40) instead.
Alternatively you can also add in more USB 3.1 Gen2 ports with a StarTech.com Dual Port USB 3.1 Card – x4 PCIe 3.0 Adaptor (Price not available).
If you are looking at buying one of the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards without Wi-Fi, then you will also need to have a dedicated PCIe 1x slot to plug a wifi adapter card into.
The GIGABYTE X570 Auros Xtreme has a PCIe 16x, 8x and 4x slots, while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master has PCIe 16x, 8x, 4x and 1x slots.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Pro actually have the most PCIe slots, with a PCIe 16x, 8x, 4x and two 1x slots.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) boards have the same as the PRO versions, but lack a PCIe 8x slot.
The GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi Mini-ITX motherboard only has one PCIe x16 slot.

BEST GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards - Audio
Audio is probably the least considered feature that most PC buyers take into consideration when shopping for a new motherboard, myself included. The reason is that in most cases, the audio delivered from the on-board audio, even with the lowest end motherboards is already of a high enough quality, to satisfy the needs for the average (non-audiophile) user and gamer.
With a set of mid-range desktop speakers or headphones, you really don’t need more audio quality than what the on-board audio delivers.
Looking at the GIGABYTE X570 motherboard audio features table below, we can see that the 5 top end boards, being the GIGABYTE X570 Auros Xtreme, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra (), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Pro and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99), as well as the Mini-ITX GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi motherboard, all feature the Realtek ALC1220-VB codec.
While it is a good quality codec, its nothing new, and has been seen many motherboards over the past few years. This again also contributes to the lack of enthusiasm for audio specifications on new motherboards, as they don’t really get updated with new technology, as fast as what CPU’s and GPU’s do.
The Realtek ALC1220-VB does offer High Definition 7.1 surround sound capabilities, with your regular MIC, speakers and Optical S/PDIF Out.
Although, the two high end motherboards, being the GIGABYTE X570 Auros Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master, set themselves apart in the audio department, by both featuring a built in DAC (ESS SABRE 9218), which as mentioned above, will help them to deliver far clearer audio, with less noise interference.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) has slightly lower end audio hardware, as it features the Realtek ALC1220, offering 5.1 surround sound instead of 7.1, while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99), uses the Realtek ALC887, also with 5.1 surround sound
If audio is very important to you, or you would like to get into it more (like I did), then the two high-end boards will certainly offer you cleaner audio, thanks to their on-board DACs.
Once you do start dabbling into the audio world, this start becoming a lot more ‘clear’ – pun intended.
However, you can enhance any of these X570 GIGABYTE Motherboards (or any motherboard for that matter) with far superior audio quality of even the top end models with built in DACs, you can easily do so, by buying a dedicated external USB Audio Interface.
As a content creator I need to not only record high quality audio, but listen back to it as well. For this I need a much higher microphone, headphones, speakers and DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter).
I’m not going to go too much in detail as to how a DAC works, but basically, as the name states, it converts your analogue audio (your voice or instrument) into a digital file (binary), so that your computer can understand and plays it back to you.
Having a DAC on your X570 Motherboard, is like having a dedicated graphics card. It is a specialized chipset that is designed for a specific reason, and thus delivers higher quality performance. In this case clearer audio with far less noise interference, also known as SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio).
These devices aren’t too expensive and will increase both you microphone, and headphone/speaker quality and experience, 10 fold over what these on-board audio cards can do.
As someone who was never really into audio, I was blown away when I bought my first USB Audio Interface, the Yamaha Steinberg UR22MKII 2-Channel USB Interface ($169.99) with a proper set of headphones beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Limited Edition Black ($248.99).
The audio quality was from another world, compared to what I had previously thought was “great” or good enough audio for so many years. The only thing I regret was, not having done it sooner.

BEST GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards - LAN & WiFi
The new X570 Motherboards offer the new WiFi 6 standard, which is indicated by the “ax” in the WiFi type, under its full name of 802.11ax. WiFi 5 being 802.11ac in comparison.
The main difference is that Wifi 6 has a maximum theoretical speed of 2.4Gb/s making it 40% faster than is faster than WiFi 5 at 1.7Gb/s. Speeds isn’t the only improvement however, as WiFi 6 has a new “target wake time” (TWT) feature to increase mobile battery life.
802.11ax also incorporates many new technologies to help in crowded areas, which it promises at least a 4x speed improvement. Future developments also promise a new 6Ghz spectrum, adding to the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies currently available.
All WiFi enabled X570 GIGABYTE Motherboards support MU-MIMO as well. MU-MIMO (8-stream Multi-User-Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) is designed for common environments like your home or office to better allocate router bandwidth between devices, for optimal performance in each.
This is a great feature for all gamers, making sure your game isn’t being slowed down by someone else watching downloading files or streaming at the same time. Your router will allocate just enough bandwidth to YouTube for it to function and the rest to you, instead of splitting it 50/50.
Buying an on-board WiFi motherboard can be more cost effective
While the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) will be the cheaper options in this X570 lineup, mostly due to less features, such as the lack of WiFi, it can cost you more in the end.
You must remember that unless you already own a WiFi 6 or 5 add-in card, (or you will be using the LAN for your internet delivery) it will be an extra expense to buy this additionally to your motherboard. So make sure to factor that into your budget.
Usually just buying a WiFi enabled motherboard upfront, works out to be the cheaper option in total.
Here, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) is the better option in terms of value, feature delivery and performance. Naturally you will need a WiFi 6 router as well, with capable internet speeds to make full use of the technology.
Bluetooth 5 is also supported on all these wifi enabled motherboards.
All of the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards support one 1Gb/s LAN port with the exception of the two top end boards.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme supports dual LAN with a 10Gb/s speed LAN port, for ultra fast file transfers to something like a NAS Device, while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master also supports dual LAN but the second LAN port is a slower 2.5Gb/s speed instead.

BEST GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards - Power
Last but not least, let’s take a look at the Power delivery specifications of the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboard range.
GIGABYTE have really come in swinging with their VRM setups, in the X570 range. A day and night difference to their futile X470 attempt, which is great to see.
The two top end GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master, are both sporting one of the best VRM’s currently available, the IR XDPE132G5C from Infineon.
GIGABYTE decided that doubler’s are for sissies, so they chose to rather implement this true 16-phase digital PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) engine in their motherboards. The IR XDPE132G5C is the world’s first 1000a voltage controller, designed for the most hardcore server applications, such as AI (artificial intelligence) servers.
Now this beauty can be found on the two consumer GIGABYTE X570 motherboards, which is absolutely crazy. The potential of this combined with the new Ryzen 3000 chipsets, will be unparalleled for extreme overclockers, looking for the best of the best.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme runs the IR XDPE132G5C in 14+2 (16 phase) setup, while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master runs the IR XDPE132G5C in 12+2 (14 phase) setup.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra (), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO and GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi MINI-ITX Motherboards, feature the IR35201 (6+2) Voltage Controller instead.
As the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra (), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO/WiFi advertise a 12 Phase VRM, they are naturally using a Vcore doubler, which in this case is the IR3599, making the total 12+2 (14 Phases) for the two ATX boards.
The GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi MINI-ITX doesn’t use doubler’s, as it is a straight, 6+2 (8 Phase) VRM “only”.
Lastly, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) uses the ISL69138 (6+1) Vcore PWM, with the ISL6617A doublers, while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) uses the ISL69147 5+2 (5+2) Voltage Controller, also with the ISL6617A doubler’s, giving is a 12 Phase VRM in total.
NOTE: For those that don’t know, the +X number is the Vsoc (System on Chip Voltage) phases, which powers mostly everything else on the motherboards except the CPU (which is what the main Vcore Phases are for), such as on-board graphics, M.2 & SATA ports, RAM etc . Vsoc phases are most notably important for RAM overclocking.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme also uses top of the line, TDA21472 (70A) Vcore MOSFETs (metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) for supreme voltage regulation, while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master uses the more commonly known, IR3556 (50A) MOSFETs.
The craziest thing of all, is that the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi MINI-ITX Motherboard, also uses the same TDA21472 (70A) Vcore MOSFETs as the top of the line GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme.
If you have read this review from start to finish, you will have noticed that this isn’t the first time that this little Mini-ITX motherboard has had the same features as the top end, Xtreme and Master boards. Compared to the competition, this GIGABYTE Mini-ITX board is definitely the one to look out for.
As With the Vcore PWM, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) again share similar parts, in this case, they have the same IR3553 (40A) MOSEFTs.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) uses SiC634 (50A) MOSFETs while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) uses PPak 1H2L (60A) MOSEFETs.
The top of the line, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master Motherboards both feature Dual 8+8 pin 12V power connectors, giving them a sustainable power delivery of around 600W.
The mid range GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) feature a 8+4 12V power connectors, giving them a sustainable power delivery of around 450W, while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi MINI-ITX have your standard 8-pin 12V power connectors, giving them a sustainable power delivery of around 300W each.
All of the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards, naturally also have a standard 24-pin Mains power connector as well.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master motherboards features 2x RGB LED strip headers and 2x addressable LED strip headers.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra (), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO/WiFi GIGABYTE X570, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) motherboards also features 2x RGB LED strip headers and 2x addressable LED strip headers, together with an extra CPU cooler LED strip/RGB LED strip header.
Lastly, the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi MINI-ITX Motherboard features 1x addressable LED strip header, together with 1x CPU cooler LED strip/RGB LED strip header.
All the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards have a single main CPU Fan connector, together with a single watercooling fan connector, except for the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi MINI-ITX which has no watercooling fan connector.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme hosts 4 system fan headers, as well as 2 more for pump/watercooling fan headers, while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO/WiFi motherboards, have the same configuration, less one system fan header.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi MINI-ITX Motherboards, have 2 system fan headers, with no pump/watercooling fan headers, so not really intended for full watercooling builds.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO/WiFi motherboards, all have direct touch heatpipes and array heatsinks, while the lower end GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi MINI-ITX Motherboards do not have any direct touch heatpipes and array heatsinks.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master motherboards feature 5W/mK VRM Thermal Pads and 5W/mK thermal padded backplate for extra cooling and extreme overclocking.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () has 5W/mK VRM Thermal Pads but no backplate.
The rest of the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards do not have VRM Thermal Pads but or a backplate
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme adn GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master motherboards feature Dual BIOS with 2 on-board BIOS Switches, 1 Reset Button and 1 Power Button.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO/WiFi motherboards, feature Dual BIOS with no on-board BIOS Switches, Reset Button or 1 Power Button. The do however have a standard CMOS Clear jumper.
The rest of the motherboards, including the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90), GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus PRO WiFi MINI-ITX, only have single UEFI BIOS with a CMOS Clear jumper.

What is the Best GIGABYTE X570 Motherboard to buy?
Ok, so now that we know all the specs, we need to make a choice on which GIGABYTE X570 motherboard to buy. The GIGABYTE X570 Xtreme is clearly the best GIGABYTE X570 Motherboard available, but things are so easy.
Not everyone can afford its high price tag or actually need, all its high end features to begin with.
So sure, if money isn’t a problem, the choice is simple. Look no further than the GIGABYTE X570 Xtreme. Its not only best AMD GIGABYTE Motherboard available, but also the best X570 motherboard overall in my opinion.
Its massive 16-phase VRM with the IR XDPE132G5C Voltage Controller, puts the likes of its competitors, in a solid second position.
If money is a factor, then you have to consider what your budget is, and what features you need most from your new X570 Motherboard. These two factors are going to obviously dependent on you and you alone, as each person’s budget and needs are different.
In saying that, I can however offer some advice to help you make the most optimal choice.
Let’s start with the cheapest GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards and work our way up. While the header might say “entry level”, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90), are certainly like no other “entry level” motherboards you’ve ever known.
These two motherboard knocks the socks off, even the high end X470 motherboards from the previous generation, thanks to the massive advances of the new Ryzen 3000 CPU architecture and the new PCIe 4.0 standard that comes with them.
On-Board Graphics & RAM
As the name states, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) ATX motherboards are more than you’ll need, if you are a casual/avid gamer or use your computer for everyday Windows orientated tasks.
Their on-board HDMI 2.0 4K@60Hz graphics cards, means that you can even get away with not having to buy a graphics card if you are going to not use it for gaming.
If you are an avid gamer, then naturally dedicated graphics card is essential.
Both the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90), boast a whopping 128GB of RAM capacity, at much higher OC speeds thanks to PCIe 4.0, which is insane for its price tag, compared to last years generation motherboards.
Both the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) only support RAM overclocked to 4000MHz.
SATA & M.2 Ports
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90), offer an acceptable 2x M.2 ports for PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive storage of your game libraries, so that they load at lightning fast speeds.
Together with this, they also offer SATA SSD ports for endless storage using SATA SSD Drives or even large capacity HDD’s such as the WD 8TB Ultrastar DC HC320 SATA HDD – 7200 RPM, 256MB Cache ($179.99) on Amazon.
As with all the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards, these can be configured into RAID 0,1 or 10.
USB Ports
USB wise, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) does lack substantially, compared to its higher end brothers. It only offers USB 3.1 Gen1 (5gb/s) and much slower USB 2.0 ports.
So no USB 3.1 Gen2 (10gb/s) ports on the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) motherboard.
You can however buy and additional USB 3.1 Gen2 (10gb/s) PCIe expansion ports, such as the StarTech.com Dual Port USB 3.1 Card (Price not available). This card will only offer you an extra rear 2x USB 3.1 GEN2 (unless you spend even more on a 4 ports card).
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) offers better USB connectivity, thanks to its 2x USB 3.1 Gen2 (10gb/s) on the rear IO, as well as an internal USB-C 3.1 Gen2 (10gb/s) header, to connect to your cases front IO. It also offers 2 more USB 2.0 rear ports (4 in total), giving it, a total of 19 USB ports, compared to the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99), which only has 14 USB ports.
So if USB connectivity is important to you (like it is to me), then I would highly suggest going for the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) instead.
PCIe Slots
Speaking of PCIe ports, as with every other X570 Motherboard, you have a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, which will naturally be used for your dedicated graphics card. This is however a PCIe4.0 slot, meaning that its twice as fast as the X470 PCIe x16 slot. This really keeps this board future proof, once graphics cards start making use of PCIe 4.0 bandwidth.
Note that neither these two motherboards have a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot, which might be important to some if you need a second graphics card for streaming, for instance. Although as mentioned above, as this is PCIe 4.0, you can actually use a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for an extra graphics card, of which both boards have one of.
The only difference between the two is that the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) comes with one less PCIe 4.0 x1 slot. This is in-exchange for more USB ports, as mentioned earlier. Although, I would rather have more USB ports, than an extra PCIe 4.0 x1 slot any day of the week.
The extra PCIe 4.0 x1 slot on the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99), can be used for other extras like WiFi expansion cards, which you will need to buy, as neither of these two boards come with any WiFi built in.
This is a major difference between these two motherboards and the higher tier boards.
To me, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) is a far better buy due to its superior USB features, although it does come at an extra cost as well. While the few extra $ might put you off, remember that you will most likely have this motherboard for at least the next 2 years. The nominal extra money you spend now, for far superior USB 3.1 GEN2 (10gb/s) compatibility, will be the best money ever spent in the long run.
You don’t want to be stuck with a motherboard that only supports 3.1 GEN1 (5gb/s) as everything moves towards GEN2.
Besides, if you want to add USB Gen2 to the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99), you need to spend about the same amount of money, that differentiates these two boards in price, for an extra USB 3.1 GEN2 (10gb/s) PCIe card, such as the StarTech.com Dual Port USB 3.1 Card (Price not available), anyway.
This card will only offer you an extra rear 2x USB 3.1 GEN2 (unless you spend even more on a 4 ports card StarTech.com Quad Port USB 3.1 Card (Price not available)), where as you get 3x USB 3.1 GEN2 (10gb/s) out of the box, when buying the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90), for far less than having to buy a quad USB expansion card.
LAN, WiFi & BlueTooth
As I said previously, if you are looking at upgrading, or adding to WiFi 6, to your new PC build, then you have to factor in the price of the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99), PLUS the cost of an external WiFi PCIe Adapter card such as an ASUS PCE-AC88 AC3100 4×4 802.11AC PCIe Adapter ($113.50), which is only WiFi 5 and not even WiFi 6.
The cost of both of these together, MUST determine your purchase decision, over choosing the next tier motherboard.
In most cases, the extra $100 you will need to spend on an external WiFi6 PCIe Adapter card, will be equal to, or even more than, just buying the higher end GIGABYTE X570 Pro Wifi to begin with.
Both the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90), only comes with a single 1GB LAN port and Bluetooth 5 connectivity for connecting your headphones or speakers wirelessly.
Audio
Audio wise, you only get 5.1 channels from its audio codec, but for the majority of people this is more than enough, especially for gaming, which only really requires 2 channels.
Power, VRM & Overclocking
Power and overclocking wise, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) offers very respectable features, including PPak 1H2L (60A)) MOSFETS and ISL69147 (5+2) Voltage Controller, although these are using the ISL6617A doublers, so you aren’t getting a true 12 phase VRM.
Although, only the two top end, GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master motherboards, offer true, non doubled VRM’s.
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) sets itself apart here again, as it offers a 12+2 (14 phase) VRM over the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99), which has a 10+2 (12 phase) VRM instead.
Conclusion
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) is a far better buy and well worth the extra money, especially in terms of its superior amount of USB ports, at the cost of an extra PCI Express 1x slot, but this saves you money from not having to buy an extra USB expansion card.
While most people looking at these boards will be popping a Ryzen 3600 or 3600x, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) features a superior 12+2 phase VRM over the 10+2 of the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99), which allows you to easily run a Ryzen 3900x in the Elite.
Moving up, onto the mid range GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards, things really start to get exciting.
Here there are technically 3 motherboards, but as two of them consists of the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS PRO and the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) version, which for a mere $10 more, gets you the WiFi version, really makes the non WiFi version obsolete in my opinion.
There is no way you are going to be able to buy a WiFi 6 Adapter card for less than $10.
If you are looking in this tier, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () are your only two realistic GIGABYTE options.
On-Board Graphics & RAM
As with the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99), these two boards also come with on-board HDMI 2.0 4K@60Hz graphics and 16GB shared memory between it and the CPU. Very unlikely that people buying in this tier will not be using a dedicated graphics card instead, but the on-board is there anyway.
Both the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra (), offer 128GB of RAM capacity, using 4 RAM DIMM slots over a dual channel daisy chain configuration, with a stellar 3200MHz base clock and even more fantastic overclock speeds of 4400MHz. This is one factor that sets them apart from the entry level, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) motherboards, as they only support up to 4000MHZ overclocked RAM.
SATA & M.2 Ports
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) offers an acceptable 2x M.2 ports for PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive storage of your game libraries or work files, for blazing fast speeds, while the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () gives you 3x M.2 ports for PCIe 4.0 NVMe drives.
Both motherboards offer 6x SATA 3.0 ports, for extra SATA SSD and SATA HDD storage, and as with all the GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards, these can be configured into RAID 0,1 or 10.
USB Ports
USB wise, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () offer an identical, total of 19 USB ports, consisting of 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, 2x USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A, 3x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A and 4x USB 2.0 Type-A ports on the rear IO.
The internal headers consist of 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, 4x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A and 4x USB 2.0 Type-A ports, allowing for easy connection to your case’s front IO.
A very nice mix of both internal and rear USB ports, covering all speeds and connection types.
PCIe Slots
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () are again identical in their PCIe offerings, giving 1 x PCIe 16x, 1x PCIe 8x (if PCIe 16x if filled), 1x PCIe 4x and 2x PCIe 1x speeds.
This is a big difference between these two boards and the entry level Elite and GamingX, as those don’t have any PCIe 8x slots
Again, more than enough PCIe lanes and speed variations for a multitude of expansion options such as more NVMe drives.
LAN & WiFi & Bluetooth
Both the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () offer 1x 1Gb/s LAN port, together with WiFi 6 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, supporting 2.4 & 5GHz frequency bands, running at 2.4Gb/s.
Both GIGABYTE motherboards have two antenna ports built into the rear IO (running off the chipset), and support Bluetooth 5 connectivity for your favorite Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth speakers
Again these two boards are superior to the entry level Elite and GamingX, as those don’t offer WiFi 6 onbaord.
Audio
Audio wise, the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () offer better 7.1 surround sound compared to the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90), thanks to their Realtek ALC1220-VB codec.
Power, VRM & Overclocking
Here again, GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () motherboards are identical, featuring 12+2 Phase VRM consisting of a IR35201 (6+2) Voltage Controller, IR3553 (40A) MOSFETS and IR3599 (6) doublers.
They feature 6 layers of PCB material, which is more than the 4 layers offered by the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99), giving these boards more over all quality insulation.
The one difference between the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () is that the Ultra features 5W/mK thermal pads on its VRM, where as the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) doesn’t.
What sets them apart from the mid range GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite ($292.90) and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Gaming X ($169.99) motherboards, is that they both offer a Direct Touch Heatpipe and Fins Array Heatsink for superior cooling and overclocking.
Conclusion
The GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () offers an extra 2-Phases in it’s VRM, as well as 5W/mK thermal pads to cool it. Its also gives you one extra M.2 port, which is never a bad thing.
Is it worth the extra $40?
This depends on how much you value the extra M.2 slot as this is the only real difference between these two motherboards.
The extra M.2 port means that you will not have to buy an additional NVMe PCIe 4.0 adapter in the future, should your needs grow beyond only 2x M.2 ports, which could save you cash in the long run. It really depends on whether an NVMe PCIe 4.0 adapter will cost you less than $40.
The other major benefit is that the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () also allows you to then free up a PCIe slot that can then be used for something else, or even still put a NVMe PCIe adapter into for even more M.2 drives.
So basically is comes down to this; is an NVMe PCIe 4.0 adapter less than $40 and how important is the extra PCIe slot to you?
Then, if you need slightly extra overclocking legroom, then the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () has thermal pads on its VRM. If not, then the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus PRO WiFi ($279.99) is the better option, and a great option at that.
The time has come, as we compare the two heavy-weight GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards.
The GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme and the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master are specifically designed for the HEDT (High End Desktop) users, wanting to make full use of the Ryzen 9 3950X 16 core 32 Thread CPU, and obviously the extreme watercooling overclockers, who want to push out, every last bit of performance.
On-Board Graphics & RAM
No one putting this much money into a motherboard, should be using on-board graphics and GIGABYTE agrees, as they offer no on-board graphics for the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme or GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master motherboards.
Those precious chipset resources are much better used elsewhere, on features that matter in this category of performance.
As with all the previous GIGABYTE motherboards mentioned, the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master motherboards also offer 128GB of RAM capacity, using 4 RAM slots over a dual channel daisy chain configuration, with a stellar 3200MHz base clock and overclock speeds of around 4400MHz.
SATA & M.2 Ports
Surprisingly, the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master motherboards offer the same 3x M.2 NVMe ports + 6x SATA ports as the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra (). While not a bad thing, it does make the Ultra look like a good buy for its lower price difference.
RAID 0,1 or 10 are once again also supported.
USB Ports
USB wise, they both also offer 19 total USB connections like the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra (), but do differ slightly in the amount of each USB generation.
The GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master features 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, 3x USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and 2x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A ports on the rear IO., while its internal headers consist of 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, 4x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A and 8x USB 2.0 Type-A ports, allowing for easy connection to your case’s front IO.
The GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme on the other hand, features 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, 5x USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A, 2x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A, and 4x USB 2.0 Type-A ports on the rear IO, while its internal headers consist of 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, 4x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A and 2x USB 2.0 Type-A ports.
The difference is basically that GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme offers 2 more USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A ports, instead of 2x USB 2.0 Type-A ports, which is obviously better.
All round, both boards offer a very nice mix of both internal and rear USB ports, covering all speeds and connection types.
PCIe Slots
The GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme features 1 x PCIe 16x, 1x PCIe 8x (if PCIe 16x if filled) and 1x PCIe 4x speed slots, while the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master offers 1 x PCIe 16x, 1x PCIe 8x (if PCIe 16x if filled), 1x PCIe 4x and 1x PCIe 4x speed slots, giving it one extra PCIe 4.0 1x slot.
This is very likely due to the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme gaining 2x USB 3.1 Gen2 ports instead, due to lane allocations.
LAN & WiFi & Bluetooth
Both the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master offer 1x 1Gb/s LAN port, together with WiFi 6 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, supporting 2.4 & 5GHz bands, running at 2.4Gb/s.
However, they both also offer a second LAN port, but differ in speeds. The GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme features a 10Gb/s LAN ports, while the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master only features a 2.5Gb/s secondary LAN port.
Both feature dual antenna ports built into the rear IO (running off the chipset) and Bluetooth 5 connectivity.
Audio
As with the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra (), the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master offer the same 7.1 surround sound, thanks to their Realtek ALC1220-VB codec, but the two high end motherboards set themselves apart by featuring an ESS SABRE9218 and ESS SABRE9118 DAC on-board, for much better audio noise reduction and clarity .
Power, VRM & Overclocking
Finally, the section that sets these two kings, apart from the futile peasants below them, their insane VRM’s
Both the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master are powered by the IR XDPE132G5C Voltage Controller, although the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme makes full use of this server grade equipment, with its true 14+2 (16-Phase) VRM, accompanied by its TDA21472 (70A) MOSFETS and 8 PCB layers.
This is a world first for a consumer motherboard, so well done to GIGABYTE for going all out on this one.
The GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master is no slouch though, as it also uses the IR XDPE132G5C Voltage Controller, but in a slightly smaller, true 12+2 (14-Phase) VRM, accompanied by its IR3556 (50A) MOSFETS and 6 PCB layers.
Both of these two motherboards VRMs are true 14 and 16 phase, thus no doublers exists, which is what really sets them apart from the rest of their X570 motherboard range.
Both boards also feature 5W/mK VRM thermal pads and 5W/mK pads on their backplates, Direct Touch Heatpipe and a Fins Array Heatsink to make sure these monsters are ready for the most extreme overclocking that you can throw at them.
Conclusion
The GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme offers an extra 2-Phases in its VRM, with superior MOSFETS, as well as 10Gb/s LAN compared to the 2.5Gb/s form the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master.
The GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme also has a slightly better Audio DAC. It has one less PCIe 4.0 x1 slot, although it makes up for it with 2 extra USB 31 Gen2 ports.
Do note that the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme is a larger E-ATX motherboard, while the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master is standard ATX, so make sure to also take that into account when buying a case for this behemoth.
The choice will really come down to how extreme and skilled of an overclocker you are. If you are in the top percentile, then look no further than the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme, as it will fit all your needs with zero compromises.
Last, but definitely not least, is the almighty GIGABYTE X570 AORUS I PRO WiFi Mini-ITX Motherboard.
This little powerhouse stands on its own as the only option in the GIGABYTE X570 lineup which is totally fine by me given its insane specs. This little beast puts all previous X470 motherboards to shame at half the size.
On-Board Graphics & RAM
As this is a Mini-ITX form factor, the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi has a whopping 2x HDMI + 1x DisplayPort on-board display card supporting up to 3 screens up to – 4K@60Hz, with its 16GB of shared memory. Whether all 3 displays will be able to run 4K@60Hz at the same time will have to be seen. They might be able to, if its just playing something low intensive like a movie on each, but definitely not while gaming.
As usual to its form factor, it has only 2 RAM slots, but each of these are the same quality as its bigger brothers, and is capable of the same 32GB of 3200MHZ+ RAM in each slot, with the same 4400MHz overclocking capabilities.
This is like no other Mini-ITX you’ve ever seen before.
SATA & M.2 Ports
The GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi comes with a very welcoming 2x M.2 NVMe ports + 2x SATA ports, which is just short 2x SATA ports than many of the bigger ATX X570 GIGABYTE boards.
RAID 0,1 or 10 are once again also supported.
USB Ports
There does however have to be some sacrifices in a motherboard this small, which is why the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi “only” supports 10 USB connections in total.
The GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi features 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, 1x USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and 4x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A ports on the rear IO, while its internal headers consist of 1x USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A, 1x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A and 2x USB 2.0 Type-A ports, allowing for easy connection to your case’s front IO.
All round, this motherboard offers a great and versatile amount of USB ports both on the rear IO and internally. I would have liked to have seen an internal USB-C header though, so as to have USB-C connected to the front, of an ITX case, instead of the rear only.
Although that would mean sacrificing the two 2x USB 2.0 Type-A ports and 1x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A port.
PCIe Slots
The GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi offers a single PCIe 16x slot, which is the norm for ITX, allowing you to put any dedicated graphics card in there if you wish, should the on-board graphics not be sufficient for your needs.
With this motherboard’s power, I would suggest doing just that, as it can be a monster of a gaming or editing rig, that can easily be carried around with you.
Not giving it a dedicated graphics card, seems like an injustice.
LAN & WiFi & Bluetooth
The GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi, as the name states, comes with built in WiFi 6 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, supporting 2.4 & 5GHz bands, running at 2.4Gb/s. It also has a standard 1x 1Gb/s LAN port, together with Bluetooth 5 connectivity.
No lack of wireless connectivity on this little guy.
Audio
Audio quality is definitely not an after though either, as the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi features the same 7.1 surround sound, Realtek ALC1220-VB codec as the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra (), GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master and GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme motherboards!
It doesn’t have the Audio DAC, that the latter two have, but that’s perfectly fine, as you can just plug it into your AMP, (which is what it most likely will be standing next to in your lounge) or USB Audio Interface for your computer desk.
Power, VRM & Overclocking
Power delivery, the GIGABYTE X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi is insane.
It features the same TDA21472 (70A) MOSFETS and 8 PCB layers as the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme, coupled with the same IR35201 (6+2) PWM, as the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Ultra () in a true 6+2 (8-Phase) VRM configuration.
Now that is power in a small package! You will be able to seriously air-cooled overclocking, with this little motherboard.
Conclusion
As this is the only option from GIGABYTE in the small form factor category, there is nothing to really compare it to here, except the offerings from ASUS, MSI and ASRock.
