Best Ryzen 3000 ASUS X570 Motherboard
ASUS motherboards have been the top choice of many PC builders for many years, thanks to their high quality and all round, sleek looking motherboard designs, with the ASUS Crosshair motherboards featuring as their top end enthusiastic boards, while the Strix range has been targeting the mid-range/gaming market, and the ASUS PRIME falling in slightly below the Strix. The only range that hasn’t seen much popularity has been the TUF range, due to poor quality components in last year’s X470 motherboard generation.
ASUS are keeping to their range tier names once again, with their X570 Motherboard range, while also adding in a few others in between such as the WS (Work Station) ACE as well as a Mini-DTX and Mini-ITX option for the X570 launch.

Best ASUS X570 Motherboards - General Specs
Our first step in finding the best ASUS X570 Motherboard, is to start with the general specs of this motherboard product range, for AMD Zen2 Processors.
As these motherboards are designed to support the same AMD Ryzen 3000 CPU’s, many of the specs here will be identical, as they all make use of the same AM4 socket.
However, there are some very important buying factors within this table to take note of, such as Price, Form Factor (size) and On-Board Graphics.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard Price” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
In terms of the general specs, the price difference between motherboard models, is certainly a big factor to consider, in relation to your budget, when looking to buy one of these ASUS X570 Motherboards.
Although, as mentioned before, there are many other factors you should also take into account as well, to make sure you are getting the most value from your purchase, with least sacrifices in features.
All prices below are still TBC.
The best of the best, high end ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula Motherboard will set you back ($580.07), while the and ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero Motherboard will cost ($399.00).
The ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming will cost ($489.00), while the slightly lower tier ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming Motherboard is $249.99.
Below the gaming motherboards, is the ASUS X570-Pro Motherboard for ($219.00) and ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE Motherboard ($449.99).
Followed these are the two the entry level ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99) and ASUS Prime X570-P ($95.92).
The last two motherboards are smaller form factor versions, being the ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact for $(TBC) and the ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming for $(TBC).
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard Form Factor & Dimensions” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
The following X570 ASUS motherboards that are standard ATX dimensions of 12″ x 9.6″ (30.5cm x 24.4cm) are the:
- ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Formula
- ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Hero
- ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming
- ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming
- ASUS Prime X570-Pro
- ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE
- ASUS TUF X570-PLUS WiFi
- ASUS Prime X570-P
The ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact is Mini-DTX motherboard, which is slightly longer at 8″ x 6.7″ (20.32cm x 17cm), than the ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming motherboard, which is a Mini-ITX form factor size of 6.7″ x 6.7″ (17cm x 17cm).
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard On-Board Graphics” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
Another difference between the 10 ASUS X570 Motherboards is, whether or not they have the on-board graphics support via HDMI 2.0b and/or DisplayPort 1.3 at 4K (4096×2304) with a 60Hz refresh rate and with 16GB of Shared Memory.
The ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00), ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming ($249.99), ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00), ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99), ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99) and ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming, all feature on-board graphics, with 1x onboard HDMI port, and 1x onboard DisplayPort connections.
The entry level, ASUS Prime X570-P ($95.92) is the only ASUS X570 Motherboard to not feature a DisplayPort, but rather a single HDMI port instead
The two higher end ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07) and ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00), as well as the Mini-DTX ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact motherboards, do not feature any onboard graphics.
This is as it should be, as anyone buying these boards, will certainly be putting their own dedicated graphics card into their build instead.
This also allows these motherboard to offer a few extra features, in place of on-board graphics, that are more interesting to high end users.

Best ASUS X570 Motherboards - RAM (Memory)
There is not much difference between the ASUS X570 Motherboards in terms of RAM specifications, except for the fact that the all the ATX versions, support a massive 128GB of RAM, via dual channel support of 4 DIMM slots, which is double that of the previous X470 generation motherboards, that only supported 64GB of DDR4 RAM.
The two mini form factor motherboards, being the ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact and ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming, support 64GB of DDR4 RAM over their 2 DIMM slot configuration. For a Mini-ITX/DTX motherboard, this is an insane amount of RAM support.
All the ASUS X570 Motherboards support a minimum of 2133MHz of DDR4 RAM, up to a Maximum of 3600MHz as standard. AMD have also said that these boards will be able to potentially overclock to 4600MHz quite easily, but will update this factor when we have had some time to test the overclocking capabilities.

BEST ASUS X570 Motherboards - Storage
We have certainly come a long way in terms of storage technology and the amount of ports on our motherboards, compared to only a few years ago. These new X570 ASUS motherboards are jam packed with both and array of SATA and M/2 ports.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard SATA Ports for SSD Drives” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
In general. the ASUS X570 Motherboards support slightly more SATA3 (6Gb/s) ports than their GIGABYTE X570 Rivals.
The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07), ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00), ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00), ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99) motherboards, all feature 8x SATA3 (6Gb/s) ports, which is two more than the X570 GIGABYTE Range.
This is more than enough for most high end workstation PCs to plug an array of SATA SSD Drives, such as the Samsung 860 EVO 500GB ($74.99) or Samsung 860 EVO 1TB ($121.07), as well as large storage Spinning Hard Drives into, such as the WD 8TB Ultrastar DC HC320 SATA HDD – 7200 RPM, 256MB Cache ($179.99), which is one of the fastest and most reliable HHD drives I’ve owned.
The ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00) and AASUS Prime X570-P ($95.92) motherboards support 6x SATA3 (6Gb/s) SSD ports, while the ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99), ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact and ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming, support 4x SATA3 (6Gb/s) SSD ports
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard M.2 Ports for NVMe Drives” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
Where some of the X570 GIGABYTE Motherboards support more M.2 NVMe ports, the ASUS X570 Motherboards only support 2x M.2 slots across their entire X570 range.
The lesser amount of M.2 ports, is who they are able to offer more SATA3 (6Gb/s) SSD ports. This is nice for us as consumers quite honestly, as it gives us even more choices. If you want to build a PC with more SATA ports, then ASUS ticks a box off your list.
If you prefer to have more more M.2 slots for NVMe drives, then GIGABYTE has you covered. The only caveat is that you will need to buy the GIGABYTE X570 Ultra at the very least, to get 3x M.2 NVMe slots, as all the lower tier GIGABYTE motherboards, also only have 2x M.2 NVMe slots
Either way, there is a solution for you, which is great.
All these ASUS M.2 Ports support the new PCIe NVMe 4.0 standard, except for the ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99), which support 1x PCIe NVMe 4.0 and 1x PCIe NVMe 3.0.

BEST ASUS X570 Motherboards - USB Ports
While not something many people consider important when buying a new motherboard, to me this is one of my top 3 priority factors, when choosing a motherboard, due to all the devices and external drives I need to connect and power with my PC.
This will vary depending on your needs, so decide which is best for your own needs here.
[bs-heading title=”Amount of USB Ports on ASUS X570 Motherboards” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
I wrote the Best X570 GIGABYTE Motherboard review article before I did this one and thought, wow 19 USB ports on a motherboard is insane. Then, along comes ASUS and throw in 21x USB ports on their ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07) and ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) motherboards.
Yes, 21x USB ports, on a single consumer motherboard. WOW!
The rest of the ASUS X570 motherboards unfortunately don’t hold up as strongly, in comparison to there equivalent GIGABYTE counterparts.
The ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00), ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming ($249.99), ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00), ASUS Prime X570-P ($95.92) and ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99), only feature 15 USB ports, where as the GIGABYTE range hold strong with a far more respectable 19 USB ports.
So if USB port connectivity is a big part of your buying decision, then you really need to look at which of these two manufacturers will offer you the best solution, depending on which tier X570 motherboard you are wanting to buy.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard USB Port Speeds” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
The arrangement of these USB speeds/generations vary quite differently between the ASUS X570 Motherboard range though.
USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gb/s) ports
In total, the ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07), ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) and ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00) motherboards, offer the most USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gb/s) ports, with 9 each.
The ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact Mini-DTX Motherboard come in second place with 8x USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gb/s) ports, followed by the ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming ($249.99), ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00) and ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99) motherboards with 5x USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gb/s) ports each.
The ASUS Prime X570-P ($95.92) and ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming have 4x USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gb/s) ports each, while the ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99) motherboard comes in last place with 3x USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gb/s) ports each
USB 3.1 Gen1 (5Gb/s) ports

BEST ASUS X570 Motherboards - PCIe Ports
Much like USB ports, the PCIe ports are also a very important, yet underrated factor to consider, when buying a motherboard.
The amount of PCIe ports and their arrangement again depends on what you want to connect to your new X570 Motherboard.
Naturally, most people (other than your average office desktop user), will want to install a dedicated graphics card in the PCIe x16 slot.
The rest of the slots, will largely depend on what else you want/need to connect.
The PCIe 8x slot can be used for a dual graphics card solution or for an NVMe Raid setup with the new GIGABYTE Aorus Gen4 NVMe AIC 8TB or ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Card (V2) NVMe expansion cards.
NOTE: If you are wanting to run either of these two expansion cards, with all 4 NVMe slots populated on an open X570 Motherboards, PCIe 4.0 8x slot, then you have to populate them with PCIe 3.0 NVMe drives, and not the new PCIe 4.0 NVMe drives as they require double the bandwidth. If you do, you will only be able to populate it with 2x PCIe 4.0 NVMe Drives.
With an open PCIe 4x slot you can also add even more NVMe drives using a StarTech.com M.2 Adapter – x4 PCIe 3.0 NVMe Adaptor ($22.41), although as these motherboards support PCIe 4.0 x4, you can in actual fact now run a dual PCIe 3.0 NVMe Drive expansion setup in your PCIE 4.0 4x slot with a Supermicro AOC-SLG3-2M2 PCIe Add-On Card ($58.40) instead.
Alternatively you can also add in more USB 3.1 Gen2 ports with a StarTech.com Dual Port USB 3.1 Card – x4 PCIe 3.0 Adaptor (Price not available).
If you are looking at buying one of these ASUS X570 Motherboards without Wi-Fi, then you will also need to have, at minimum, a dedicated PCIe 1x slot to plug a wifi adapter card into.
The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07), ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00), ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00) and ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming ($249.99) motherboards, all have a PCIe 16x, 8x, 4x and 1x slot configuration.
The ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00) is the only ASUS Z570 motherboard with a PCIe 16x, 8x, 4x and three 1x slot configuration, while the ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99) and ASUS Prime X570-P ($95.92) have a PCIe 16x, 4x and a tow 1x slot configuration.
The ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99) has a PCIe 16x, two times 8x and 1x slot configuration, while both the ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact and ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming only have a single PCIe 16x configuration.

BEST ASUS X570 Motherboards - Audio
Audio is probably the least considered feature that most PC buyers take into consideration when shopping for a new motherboard, myself included. The reason is that in most cases, the audio delivered from the on-board audio, even with the lowest end motherboards is already of a high enough quality, to satisfy the needs for the average (non-audiophile) user and gamer.
With a set of mid-range desktop speakers or headphones, you really don’t need more audio quality than what the on-board audio delivers.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard Audio Codec” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07), ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) and the ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact feature the same SupremeFX S1220 codec, while the ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00), ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming ($249.99), ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00), ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99), ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99) and ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming motherboards all feature the SupremeFX S1220A Codec.
Both of these codecs offer the motherboards High Definition 7.1 surround sound capabilities, with your regular MIC, speakers and Optical S/PDIF Out.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard Audio DAC” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
As explained in the Best GIGABYTE X570 Motherboard review, a DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) is an extra chipset that allows for clearer audio with far less noise interference, also known as SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio)
If audio is very important to you, or you would like to get into it more (like I did), then the two high-end ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07), The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) motherboards, as well as the ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact will certainly offer you cleaner audio, thanks to their on-board ESS SABRE9023P DACs.
You can still buy the non-DAC ASUS X570 Motherboards and always just buy a dedicated, external USB Audio Interface DAC, such as the Yamaha Steinberg UR22MKII 2-Channel USB Interface ($169.99) to enhance a set of professional headphones such as the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Limited Edition Black ($248.99).
Buy buying a separate DAC, you are able to make it part of any computer build, which is a big benefit together with all its additional audio features such as dual mics, speaker outputs, gain controls and 48v phantom power.

BEST ASUS X570 Motherboards - LAN & WiFi
[bs-heading title=”What is WiFi 6 802.11ax?” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
Most of the new ASUS X570 Motherboards offer the new WiFi 6 standard, which is indicated by the “ax” in the WiFi type, under its full name of 802.11ax. WiFi 5 being 802.11ac in comparison.
The main difference is that Wifi 6 has a maximum theoretical speed of 2.4Gb/s making it 40% faster than is faster than WiFi 5 at 1.7Gb/s. Speeds isn’t the only improvement however, as WiFi 6 has a new “target wake time” (TWT) feature to increase mobile battery life.
802.11ax also incorporates many new technologies to help in crowded areas, which it promises at least a 4x speed improvement. Future developments also promise a new 6Ghz spectrum, adding to the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies currently available.
All WiFi enabled X570 ASUS Motherboards support MU-MIMO as well. MU-MIMO (8-stream Multi-User-Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) is designed for common environments like your home or office to better allocate router bandwidth between devices, for optimal performance in each.
This is a great feature for all gamers, making sure your game isn’t being slowed down by someone else watching downloading files or streaming at the same time. Your router will allocate just enough bandwidth to YouTube for it to function and the rest to you, instead of splitting it 50/50.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard WiFi 6 802.11ax” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
The GIGABYTE X570 Motherboard range, make this decision pretty clear cut, by either offering WiFi 6 or not, depending on the board you choose, while the ASUS X570 Range is a bit more complicated to say the least.
For starters, the ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07), ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact, ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00) and ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming motherboards come with WiFi 6 by default, while the ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) only has it as an optional extra, even though this motherboard comes in at a high bracket price point.
The ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming ($249.99), ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00) and ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99) motherboards offer no WiFi at all, while the ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99) only offers WiFi 5 and not WiFi 6 for some strange reason.
Out of all the ASUS X570 Motherboards, I would say the ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00) is the best value in terms of included WiFi 6 and feature set, due to the ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) not also including it by default and due to the fact that the price difference between the ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00) and ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming Motherboard ($249.99) is a $60 difference.
So basically for an extra $60 you get WiFi 6 as well as some other nice extra features (such as 2.5Gb/s LAN) as well. This is by far worth the spend for the extra 2.5Gb/s LAN port, not to mention the fact that there is no way you will be able to buy and extra WiFi 6 PCIe adapter card for less than $30, if you were to buy the ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming ($249.99) motherboard.

Things get even more complex when you throw BlueTooth 5 into the mix,
The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07) is the only ASUS X570 motherboard to include BlueTooth 5 by default, while the ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00), ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact, ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00), ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99) and ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming motherboards also only offer BlueTooth 5 at an additional cost.
Here again, all GIGABYTE X570 Motherboards come with BlueTooth 5 included by default.

Where the ASUS Motherboards fall behind in WiFi inclusion, compared to the GIGABYTE X570 motherboards, they do make it up in their LAN delivery, to a small extent.
The top end ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07) offers dual LAN with a 1Gb/s and 5Gb/s ports, while the ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00), ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact and ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00) motherboards, offer dual LAN with a 1Gb/s, and 2.5Gb/s ports.
The rest of the ASUS X570 range, including the ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming ($249.99), ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00), ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99), ASUS Prime X570-P, ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99) and ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming motherboards only offer a single 1Gb/s LAN port.

BEST ASUS X570 Motherboards - Power
Last but not least, let’s take a look at the Power delivery specifications of the ASUS X570 Motherboard range, comparing to the GIGABYTE X570 Power delivery specs.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard VRM” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
There is currently very little resources available, to confirm what all of the ASUS X570 motherboard VRM, MOSFETS and Voltage Controllers consist of, so I will just list what I have found and confirmed thus far.
Should you have any further details on this, please let me know in the comments section below so that I can update the table accordingly.
The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07) features a 14+2 VRM using IR3555 (60A) MOSFETS, with a 8+4-pin 12v power connector. Unsure if this is a true 14 phase Vcore or if it will be using doublers at this point. ASUS says that it is their biggest VRM to date, so, with a statement like that, I would expect it to not have doublers, much like the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme and GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Master.
One unique feature about the ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07) is that its VRM can be directly cooled in conjunction with your custom waterloops , thanks to the CrossChill EK III water block which has two watercooling ports (in/out) on the block.
The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) motherboard also uses the same IR3555 (60A) MOSFETS, but in a 12+2 configuration. Again unsure of whether this is using doublers. The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) also features a 8+4-pin 12v power connector, so I am leaning more towards it not using doublers at this point.
From here on out, I am 90% confident that the rest of the ASUS X570 motherboards will all be using doublers.
The only other two motherboards that I have information about is the ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99) which will use a ASP1106GGQW (4+2) Voltage Controller, with DrMOS Si639 (50A) MOSFETS, and the ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact Mini-DTX motherboard, which will use the IR35201 (4+2) Voltage Controller, with TDA21472 (70A) MOSFETS.
Please check back at a later date for more information as it becomes available.
I do however have full information on all the power and VRM specification of the GIGABYTE X570 motherboard range, so make sure to check those out, as they are looking very good to say the least.
NOTE: For those that don’t know, the +X number is the Vsoc (System on Chip Voltage) phases, which powers mostly everything else on the motherboards except the CPU (which is what the main Vcore Phases are for), such as on-board graphics, M.2 & SATA ports, RAM etc . Vsoc phases are most notably important for RAM overclocking.

The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07) and ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) Motherboards feature IR3555 (60A) MOSFETS (metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) for voltage regulation
The ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact Mini-DTX motherboard makes use of TDA21472 (70A) MOSFETS
The ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99) uses a basic DrMOS Si639 (50A) MOSFET.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard Power Delivery” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
The top of the line, ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07) and ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) Motherboards both feature Dual 8+4 pin 12V power connectors, giving them a sustainable power delivery of around 450W.
They aren’t the only 8+4-pin motherboards from the ASUS X570 range however, as the ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00), ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming ($249.99), ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00), ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99) and ASUS Prime X570-P ($95.92) motherboards, also all feature 8+4-pin 12V power supply connectors.
The rest of the lineup, including the ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact, ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99) and ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming motherboards feature a single 8-pin 12V power supply connector, giving them a sustainable 300w power delivery to the CPU.
All of these ASUS X570 Motherboards, naturally also have a standard 24-pin Mains power connector as well.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard RGB Ports” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07), ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00), ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming ($489.00) and ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming ($249.99) motherboards features 2x RGB LED strip headers and 2x addressable LED strip headers.
The ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact is the only board to feature a 1x RGB LED strip header and 2x addressable LED strip headers setup, while the ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00), ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi ($209.99) and Prime X570-P motherboards feature a 2x RGB LED strip headers and 1x addressable LED strip header setup.
Lastly, the ASUS Strix X570-I Gaming MINI-ITX Motherboard feature a 1x RGB LED strip header and 1x addressable LED strip header setup, while the ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99) has no RGB at all.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard Fan Headers” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07), ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) and ASUS PRO WS X570-ACE ($449.99) motherboards offer the most fan headers with 8 in total in a 2x watercooling/pump headers, 5x system fan headers and 1x CPU fan header configuration.
The ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact and ASUS Prime X570-Pro ($219.00) motherboards, offer 7 fan headers in total, in a 2x watercooling/pump headers, 4x system fan headers and 1x CPU fan header configuration,

There isn’t too much information currently available on all the ASUS X570 motherboard thermals, except that the ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07), ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact Mini-DTX and ASUS Strix X570-I Mini-ITX Gaming motherboards, have thermal backplates.
The ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) does not have a thermal backplate, together with the rest of the motherboard lineup.
All of the ASUS X570 Motherboard seems to have air-cooled VRM heatsinks, except the ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07) which has a more advanced water-cooled CrossChill EK III waterblock.
[bs-heading title=”ASUS X570 Motherboard Buttons & Switches” show_title=”1″ icon=”” title_link=”” heading_color=”#e53b17″ heading_style=”default” bs-show-desktop=”1″ bs-show-tablet=”1″ bs-show-phone=”1″ bs-text-color-scheme=”” css=”” custom-css-class=”” custom-id=”” heading_tag=”h3″]
Without better images and specifications, currently all I can say for sure is that the ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula ($580.07) and ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero ($399.00) motherboards have a back BIOS and CMOS reset button on the rear IO, as well as ‘Start” and ‘Reset” buttons and most likely dual BIOS as well.
The ASUS Prime X570-PRO has a Power Button on the internal board layout.
ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Impact seems to have ‘Safe Boot’ and ‘Retry Boot’ buttons on the board layout. Unsure if this means dual BIOS or not.
